Local High School Students to Tour Stoughton Trailers' Plants to Mark Manufacturing Day

September 28, 2018

Stoughton Trailers, LLC, will host local high school students on October 4–5 for plant tours to mark Manufacturing Day, organized by Blackhawk Technical College.

The goal of Manufacturing Day (October 5) is to educate the public — particularly youth — on the value that manufacturing provides to the local, national and sometimes international economy while addressing common misperceptions. It exposes students to career opportunities within manufacturing to ensure prosperity for the industry.

Students from Evansville, Brodhead and Janesville Parker high schools will tour one of Stoughton Trailers’ three production facilities in Stoughton, Brodhead and Evansville. They will go through a short safety training before beginning their one-hour tour, with time for questions and discussion afterward.

Students participating in the tours are required to complete pre-tour and post-tour assignments. They will write a report highlighting their experience at each tour.

Nationally, Manufacturing Day is presented by the National Association of Manufacturers and the Manufacturing Institute.
