Wahlin Foundation Gives $20,000 to Brodhead High School's New Fab Lab

April 05, 2018

The Wahlin Foundation, on behalf of Stoughton Trailers, recently delivered the the second of two $10,000 checks to Brodhead High School in Brodhead, Wis., for the school's Fab Lab, which opened at the beginning of this school year.

The Fab Lab has proven to be quite popular with the students and staff who use it for a wide variety of projects. It's available as an elective next year, and there are already four classes filled with students eager to take the course. The program is led by teacher Matthew Pederson, who also provides tech ed and science instruction.

The nonprofit Wahlin Foundation supports charitable efforts within the three communities where Stoughton Trailers manufacturing plants are located. Stoughton Trailers' Brodhead plant employs approximately 350 people.

The foundation also supports the Stoughton High School Fab Lab.

The Fab Lab concept began 10 years ago as an outreach project of MIT's Center for Bits & Atoms. It quickly grew in popularity, and today, there are more than 1,200 Fab Labs throughout the world, on every continent except Antarctica. Learn more at fabfoundation.org.
