Stoughton Trailers Celebrates Manufacturing Day 2019

October 07, 2019

In conjunction with National Manufacturing Day, Stoughton Trailers hosted students from Brodhead High School on Thursday, October 3. The local event was coordinated and sponsored by Blackhawk Technical College, and is part of an ongoing campaign to introduce students to careers in manufacturing.

Todd Roller and Caroline Lynch welcomed students to the Brodhead manufacturing plant with a short presentation and assisted in preparation for the facility tour led by Bill Peterik. In addition to the one-hour tour of the plant, students were able to walk inside a finished dry van trailer and learn more about the product through demonstrations by Ron Jake. The event ended with refreshments and time for questions and discussion.

The goal of Manufacturing Day is to educate the public - particularly the youth - on the value that manufacturing provides to the local, national, and sometimes international economies while addressing common misconceptions. It exposes students to career opportunities within manufacturing to ensure prosperity for the industry.

A special thanks to our Stoughton Trailers team who helped coordinate and prepare for this great event, including Todd Roller, Caroline Lynch, Bill Peterik, Ron Jake, Brent Seefeld, Heather Harvey, Mary Mankarious, Kelli Wahlin, and the entire Brodhead manufacturing plant community.
